For lovers of outdoor activities, travel, as well as military and security workers, buying a portable radio station would mean providing yourself with uninterrupted and high-quality communication for a long time. The online store aegisky.com offers proven radio models for all types of terrain. We carefully select each model and make sure that they always demonstrate only the best performance.
VHF portable radios
It is important to remember that radio stations have different bands. For example, VHF and UHF. VHF is the most versatile and frequently used. Radio stations tuned to this range work perfectly in any rough terrain - in the forest, mountains, steppe. For example, another type of band - Low Band (LB) has a small horizontal spread. So, in order to increase the radio communication range, a higher height of the base antenna will be required.
UHF portable radios
Portable radios with the UHF frequency range perform well in urban areas. Spiral antennas are effective, but not as much. It's all about the difference in wavelength and antenna size. The UHF range is considered “urban” and shows its best qualities in dense urban areas. By choosing this range, you will get stable communication over relatively short distances. On average, this is within the boundaries of a million-plus city. You can also buy a portable radio station with one of the designated bands because they provide stable communication with a small number of dead zones. However, it should be remembered that the UHF band is not so appropriate for open areas. Radio waves in this range do not bend well around relief convexities, and also have a fairly active attenuation in forest plantations. If you want to get a longer communication range, install basic antennas at high points.
In the online store aegisky.com you can buy portable radios with bands that will fully meet your purposes. Here you will also find a large number of
