Working principle and advanced technology
Ubiquiti AirFiber 5XHD is a carrier-grade radio module for high-speed point-to-point connections. At the heart of the device is Ubiquiti's proprietary airFiber LTU IC, which overcomes the fundamental limitations of standard Wi-Fi chips . Patented Hybrid Diversity Duplexing (HDD) technology uses a ranking algorithm to calculate propagation delay and precisely determine when the transmitter and receiver turn on, virtually eliminating that delay .
The system supports adaptive modulation up to 4096 QAM and RX duty cycle adjustment with selectable ratios of 25%, 33%, 50%, 66.7% or 75%. GPS synchronization with ±0.2 ppm accuracy makes it easy to combine multiple devices on the same tower and reuse frequencies without mutual interference . The built-in dedicated receiver enables continuous spectrum analysis via the airView app without interrupting the main communication link .
