How does the antenna work?

The antenna emits a linearly polarized signal with a wide radiation pattern. Unlike patch antennas, point the long edge of the white panel towards the direction of flight. Vertical edge position provides vertical polarization for maximum range. Wide 156° beam provides excellent coverage comparable to an omnidirectional antenna.
