Order the ultra-compact solid-state lidar YDLIDAR GS2 for precise navigation of your robot
YDLIDAR is a leading Chinese lidar sensor brand founded in 2015 by EAI Technology. Today it is a national high-tech enterprise, recognized as a “little giant” among smart sensor manufacturers. YDLIDAR produces more than just solid-state lidars.
The range includes 2D scanners based on the principles of triangulation and ToF. Popular models include TG30, TG50 with ranges up to 30–50 meters. The world's first underwater lidar TW3 with green laser is also available. The brand's products are used in robotics, automation, mapping and agriculture.
Only 100° of view and a weight of 4.2 g make it ideal for robot vacuum cleaners and service robotics.
- Wide 100° viewing angle to cover large areas.
- Detects objects as small as 3mm in diameter at a distance.
- Solid state design with no rotating parts.
- Ultra-compact dimensions 25.6×23.6×10.8 mm.
- Light weight 4.2 g for miniature devices.
How GS2 Solid State Lidar Works
This sensor uses the principle of laser triangulation. Internal optics and algorithms process the reflected beam. Electronics calculates the exact distance to each object. The device forms a cloud of points around the robot. Refresh rate reaches 28Hz for fast response. Angular resolution of 0.6° gives a detailed picture. The sensor receives information from the vertical plane. This helps robots avoid obstacles accurately.
Specific functionality and technical characteristics
Model GS2 has a working range of 25–300 mm. Wavelength available in 808 nm and 850 nm options. Light resistance reaches 25,000 lux. Supply voltage is 3.2–3.4 VDC. Operating current does not exceed 90mA to save energy. Lidar operating life reaches 10,000 hours. The operating temperature is in the range -10…+40 °C.
