How does this continuous rotation servo work?

The SPT 5525LV servo drive differs from standard models. Instead of limiting the rotation angle (usually 180°), it rotates continuously in both directions. Speed ​​and direction are controlled by the width of the PWM pulse: neutral position 1500 μs (stop), less - rotation in one direction, more - in the other. The signal frequency of 330 Hz ensures smooth regulation.

The gearbox made of metal gears and two ball bearings can withstand significant loads. The body is made of aluminum and plastic, which improves heat dissipation. The blocking current reaches 2.5 A, which indicates a powerful motor. The servo is compatible with popular flight controllers thanks to its PWM operating voltage of 3.3–5.0 V.
