Operating principle and technical details
Charger HTRC N8 operates on the principle of an intelligent current source. For NiMH and NiCd batteries, a charging algorithm is used to determine the voltage delta (-ΔV). The device supplies constant current and continuously measures the voltage on the battery. When the battery is fully charged, its voltage begins to drop slightly. The device detects this drop (delta) and automatically stops charging. This prevents overcharging and damage to the battery.
Additional important feature - cycling. The device first fully charges the battery, then completely discharges it. This cycle can be repeated several times. This helps to "break" the crystals inside old NiCd batteries. In this way, their original capacity is restored. HTRC N8 does all this automatically according to the specified parameters.
