Operating principle and key features
The Orange Pi CM5 module is a system on a chip (SoC) in the SODIMM form factor. It is inserted into the base board (CM5 Base Board), which provides all the necessary interfaces. The Rockchip RK3588S processor combines 4 high-performance Cortex-A76 cores and 4 energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores. This allows you to flexibly distribute the load between tasks. NPU accelerates the operations of neural networks, which is important for computer vision systems on drones.
The Mali-G610 MP4 GPU supports 8K@60fps video decoding. The module is equipped with Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless communication. Android, Debian and Ubuntu operating systems are supported, which gives freedom of choice of software.
Orange Pi CM5 is ideal for building high-performance drone ground stations, video analytics systems, autonomous robots and industrial controllers. Thanks to the NPU, the module can process video streams from several cameras in real time.
