How the Adjustable BEC Module Works
BEC module HGLRC 5-12V works as a pulsed step-down converter. It receives high and varying voltage input from the drone's main battery. Internal electronics switch this input current at high frequency. Then it smoothes it, obtaining a constant and stable voltage at the output. The value of this voltage is set by the position of the jumper on the contacts.
This pulse method is very effective. It has high efficiency, usually more than 90%. This means that almost all the energy goes to powering the devices rather than heating the module. Therefore, it can handle relatively high current in a small package. The module also filters electrical noise from motors and ESCs. This provides clean power for the video signal. Even when the battery is discharged, the output voltage remains stable.
