Battery tester ISDT BattGo BG-8S works as a high-precision measuring device. For the capacity test, it performs a controlled discharge cycle. The device connects to the battery and discharges it with a given current to a minimum voltage. At the same time, it calculates how much energy (in mAh or Wh) was supplied. This is the real, and not declared, battery capacity.
Measurement internal resistance (IR) happens according to a different principle. The device passes short pulses of current through the battery. It then measures how much the voltage drops. Ohm's law calculates resistance. This parameter increases as the battery ages and becomes damaged. BattGo BG-8S makes these measurements for each cell separately. This allows you to identify one weak cell in the overall assembly.
