Operating principle and technical features
The essence of the module’s operation is to establish a mobile connection. It connects to cellular networks via a SIM card. Then creates a data link for the Jetson Nano. At the same time, a GNSS receiver operates for navigation.
The module receives location data from satellites. It uses GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo systems. This ensures high accuracy and speed of coordinate determination. Data is transmitted to the computer via a serial interface.
The data transfer speed reaches 150 Mbit/s per reception. And up to 50 Mbit/s upload speed according to the LTE Cat 4 standard. This is enough for video transmission and telemetry. Your drone will stay connected in real time.
The module supports all necessary frequency ranges. It works in the networks of Russian telecom operators. You will be able to use VoIP telephony for voice communication. And send commands via SMS messages.
The board connects directly to the Jetson Nano's 40-pin GPIO header. It does not require additional adapters or complex settings. Power is supplied directly from the computer. This makes installation simple and fast.
To operate, you must insert an active SIM card. And also connect antennas for cellular communications and GNSS. Drivers and software are easy to customize to suit your needs. The module opens up endless possibilities for remote control.
Use it to create FPV drones with live streaming. Or for autonomous robots working in the field. Monitoring systems and smart farms will also benefit from it. Your projects will become truly mobile and independent.
