How the FLIR Hadron 640R camera works
The module combines two independent sensors in a single housing. Boson thermal imager based on a long-wave infrared detector (LWIR) with a resolution of 640x512 pixels and a pitch of 12 microns. Thanks to this, it captures the thermal radiation of any objects. He is able to see through complete darkness, smoke, fog and glare. Radiometric mode allows you to measure the temperature of each pixel in the scene with an accuracy of ±5°C in the range of 0–100°C.
The 64-megapixel visible camera has a 9248x6944 pixel sensor. As well as EFL optics 4.8 mm (67° horizontal). It captures detailed images in the visible range. Both sensors work synchronously, and the output data is available via MIPI or USB 3.0 interfaces. Built-in ICM20602 IMU provides stabilization and precise positioning.
Technical characteristics and functionality
The Hadron 640R module has dimensions of 35x49x45 mm and weighs only 56 grams. Power consumption is 1.8 W typical and up to 2.9 W at peak. Operating temperature range - from -20°C to +60°C. The module is equipped with MIPI interfaces (2-lane for a thermal imager, 4-lane for a visible spectrum camera) and USB 3.0.
Thermal imager optics have a focal length of 13.6 mm and a horizontal field of view of 32°. Visible spectrum camera provides full resolution video at 60Hz. The module is IP54 certified and ITAR exempt, making it easy to ship internationally.
