How does YDLIDAR TW3 lidar work?
The device emits safe laser pulses. The green beam easily penetrates the water column. The sensor measures the return time of the reflected signal. Measurement frequency reaches 4000 Hz for accurate data. The sensor rotates 360°, creating a complete picture of the environment. Angular resolution is 0.54° for high detail. The processor builds a detailed 2D map of the underwater space. The algorithm produces a green cloud of points without noise and artifacts. This is how the robot accurately sees steps, walls and obstacles.
Specific functionality and technical characteristics
The TW3 model is designed specifically for use in water. Its 1° precise beam angle is ideal for pool walls. The angle allows for seamless scanning of floor and wall joints. The technology is glare-resistant up to 100,000 lux. Test in turbid water with a turbidity of 5 NTU showed a range of more than 1.3 m. The sensor is powered by 5 V DC.
TW3 case size is 68x65.3x74.4mm. Double sealed design provides IP68 protection. Depth of reliable operation reaches 5 meters under water. The housing is resistant to chlorine and other chemicals.
