Operating principle and technical capabilities

The Fordrone Pod PTZ rangefinder uses a pulse method to measure the time of flight of a laser beam. A laser diode with a wavelength of 905 nm generates a short pulse. The return time of the reflected signal is converted into distance to the target. The device supports measurement frequencies of 1 or 2 Hz. The measurement accuracy is 1 meter, which is sufficient for most applications. The compact body allows the rangefinder to be integrated into gimbals and gondolas.
