The SUNNYSKY X3120-III 880KV motor is a type of brushless motor with an external rotor (Outrunner). The rotating outer casing with magnets provides the high torque needed to spin large propellers efficiently. The brushless design guarantees high efficiency, no sparking and minimal wear, limited only by bearing life.
The manufacturer Sunnysky uses only high-quality materials in this motor. The aluminum body is not only durable, but also excellent at dissipating heat, preventing overheating during prolonged use. The stator windings are made of copper wire. Powerful neodymium magnets create a strong magnetic field. This directly affects the torque and overall performance of the motor. The third generation model (III) has improved characteristics compared to its predecessors.
The KV 880 setting is ideal for use with 4S, 5S and 6S batteries. This allows the motor to be used on various types of models, from lighter to heavier, simply by changing the supply voltage. The SUNNYSKY X3120-III 880KV motor has a standard mount, which makes it easy to install on most modern frames and fuselages.
Due to its size and characteristics, this motor works well with propellers with a diameter of 10 to 12 inches. The exact choice of propeller depends on the weight of the model, the desired thrust and piloting style. On 4S batteries, 11-12 inch screws are optimal. The 6S can use 10-11" propellers to achieve higher speeds. The current consumed by the motor will depend on the selected propeller and voltage, so it is important to select a speed controller with sufficient margin.
