Technical excellence and measurement accuracy

The ICE-I2C-450 sensor is built on a high-precision differential pressure sensor. The operating range is 1 PSI or 6.89 kilopascals. This is the optimal sensitivity for subsonic UAV speeds. The maximum pressure without destruction reaches 20 PSI. The safety margin guarantees reliability in gusts of wind.

The operating principle is based on measuring the difference between total and static pressure. Two pneumatic ports are connected to the air pressure receiver. Quick-release fittings with a diameter of 4 mm provide a leak-tight connection. The built-in ADC converts the analog signal into digital code. Data transmission is carried out via the I2C protocol with a clock frequency of up to 400 kHz.

Integration and Compatibility

The sensor is powered by a voltage of 4 to 5.5 volts DC. The current consumption does not exceed 5 milliamps. The four-pin JST-GH connector outputs power lines and SDA/SCL buses. Connection to the flight controller is made using a standard cable.

The device is fully supported by ArduPilot and PX4 autopilots. After connection, the sensor is automatically detected in the parameters. In the settings, the AIRSPEED function is activated and the sensor type is selected. Airspeed data is displayed on the ground station screen. The information is used in control and mission planning algorithms.

Construction and operation

The printed circuit board is protected by a moisture-resistant coating. Compact dimensions of 30x40x10.5 mm allow the sensor to be placed in any compartment. Weight of 5.4 grams does not affect flight characteristics. Operating temperature range from minus 40 to plus 125 degrees Celsius. The sensor maintains calibration in extreme cold and heat.

The air channels are equipped with quick-release fittings. Tubes with a diameter of 4 mm are fixed without additional tools. The design eliminates pinching and bending of pneumatic lines. The sensor can be mounted in any position relative to the flow.

Application in various types of UAVs

The sensor is indispensable for aircraft and helicopter platforms. It prevents stalling at critical angles of attack. The pilot receives a warning about a drop in speed. The autopilot automatically adds gas to exit the dangerous mode.
