Provide precise and intelligent control of your drone's actuators. The Waveshare ST3215 servo drive is a new generation of electromechanical devices with an intelligent control system and digital feedback. With a built-in 12-bit magnetic encoder, it provides precision positioning with a resolution of 4096 steps per full revolution .
UART serial bus control allows up to 253 of these servos to be networked, ideal for complex robotics and drones. Powerful torque of 30 kg/cm2 with 12V power allows you to confidently control load release mechanisms and rotary hangers.
-
High torque 30 kg/cm. Develops force up to 30 kg/cm at a voltage of 12V, ensuring confident control of heavy mechanisms.
-
Precision magnetic encoder. 12-bit resolution (4096 steps at 360°) guarantees exceptional positioning accuracy and wear-free .
-
UART control over a common bus. Allows up to 253 servos to be connected and addressed in series via a single TTL interface.
-
Two operating modes. Switch between 360° servo mode and stepper motor continuous rotation mode.
-
Full feedback. Ability to read shaft position, load, speed and supply voltage in real time.
Operating principle and intellectual capabilities
Waveshare ST3215 is a digitally controlled servo drive based on a high-speed microcontroller and a high-precision magnetic encoder . Unlike traditional servos that use an analog potentiometer, the non-contact magnetic sensor eliminates mechanical wear and ensures consistent performance throughout its service life . Built-in electronics calculate in real time key operating parameters available for closed-loop systems: current shaft position, servo load, rotation speed and supply voltage .
A unique feature of the model is support for two operating modes, switchable at any time programmatically. In servo mode, the shaft rotates at a specified angle within 360°, which is ideal for positioning gimbals. In motor mode, it becomes a precision continuous-rotating stepper motor with an angular pitch of less than 0.09°, allowing it to be used to drive wheeled platforms or broaching mechanisms.
Each device is assigned a unique ID from 0 to 253, which allows you to create complex multi-element designs controlled over a single three-wire bus.
