Operating principle and key functionality

The D-Link DGS-1510-28XMP switch operates at the second (L2) and simplified third (L3) layers of the OSI model. It switches traffic between 24 1 Gbps copper ports and 4 10 Gbps optical ports. PoE (Power over Ethernet) technology supplies power to connected devices through the same cable as data. The switch supports VLAN (up to 255 dynamic), STP/RSTP/MSTP protocols for redundancy, as well as static routing (IPv4/IPv6) and 1024 ARP entries.

Management features include a web interface, SNMP, RMON, and a mirroring port for traffic monitoring. Two intelligent fans automatically adjust speed, reducing noise and saving energy. Protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD) and 6 kV surges ensures equipment safety in harsh environments.
