Order the USRP X310 platform for professional radio engineering research
The USRP brand is owned by Ettus Research. The company is part of the National Instruments (NI) corporation. Ettus Research specializes in software-defined radios (SDRs). The range includes USRP models B200, B210, N320, E320 and X310. Expansion boards (daughter boards) SBX, WBX, UBX, CBX are also available. Products are used in telecommunications, science and defense industries.
- The maximum ADC sampling rate is 200 MSa/s.
- 14-bit ADC resolution for high dynamic range.
- DAC sampling rate is 800 MSa/s with 16-bit resolution.
- Highly stable local oscillator with 2.5 ppm accuracy.
- Compact body 27.7×21.8×3.9 cm and weight 1.7 kg.
How a software-defined radio platform works
The analog signal is sent to the SBX-120 daughter board. The ADC converts it to a digital stream with a frequency of 200 MHz. The FPGA processes the data and transmits it to the host computer. For transmission, the digital stream goes to the DAC (800 MSa/s). The converted analog signal is output through the SBX-120 board. You control the radio using a PC.
Technical characteristics and functionality
The USRP X310 consumes 45W with two SBX-120 boards. The ADC has a maximum sampling rate of 200 MSa/s. The ADC resolution is 14 bits. The DAC operates at 800 MSa/s. The DAC resolution is 16 bits. The maximum exchange rate with the host is 200 MSa/s for 16-bit data. Local generator accuracy is 2.5 ppm. Output signal power >10 dBm. The dimensions of the device are 27.7×21.8×3.9 cm. Weight with two SBX-120 boards is 1.7 kg.
The platform is ideal for developing communication systems. Used to create 5G/6G and LTE prototypes. Used in cognitive radio and radio monitoring. Allows you to investigate data transmission channels and interference. Works with GNU Radio, LabVIEW and other SDR environments. SBX-120 daughterboards cover the range from 400 MHz to 4.4 GHz.
