This is a brushless external rotation motor (outrunner). Its permanent magnet rotor rotates around a stationary stator. The ESC controller generates three-phase alternating voltage. The current flowing through the stator windings creates a magnetic field. It interacts with the field of the rotor magnets, creating torque. Models in the EVO line have improved magnetic systems.
The Flashhobby D3542 motor has a stator size of 35 mm by 42 mm. This provides high magnetic flux and high torque. Operating voltage ranges from 14.8V (4S) to 22.2V (6S). The maximum power reaches an impressive 750 watts. This amount of energy opens up many possibilities.
The motor works great with large propellers. Screws with a diameter of 10 to 12 inches are recommended. This makes it ideal for heavy duty quadcopters and octocopters. It is also widely used in model aircraft. It requires a reliable ESC with a current of at least 40-50A.
