How the NanoPi R5S microcomputer works
You connect power via USB-C (PD). Install the OS on eMMC or microSD. The board boots FriendlyWrt, Debian or Ubuntu. The processor processes network packets at speeds up to 2.5 Gbit/s. You can use it as a router, home server or IoT gateway.
Technical characteristics and functionality of the R5S model
SoC Rockchip RK3568B2 contains 4 Cortex-A55 cores up to 2.0 GHz. The Mali-G52 GPU supports OpenGL ES 3.2 and Vulkan 1.1. NPU provides 0.8 TOPS for light AI tasks. 4 GB LPDDR4X RAM runs on a 64-bit bus. The built-in eMMC 5.1 has a capacity of 32 GB.
Network capabilities: two 2.5GbE ports (RTL8125BG) and one Gigabit Ethernet port (RTL8211F). The HDMI 2.0 port outputs 4K video at 60Hz. Two USB 3.0 Type-A ports and one USB 2.0 on pins. The M.2 M-Key slot (PCIe 2.1 x1) connects an NVMe SSD.
The microSD UHS-I slot supports cards up to 128 GB. GPIO: 12-pin FPC (SPI, UART, PWM, GPIO) and 2x8-pin (SDIO, I2S). IR receiver 38 kHz for remote controls. Connectors: RTC battery, 5 V fan, UART debugging.
