Operating principle and image quality
The camera is built on a SONY Pregius monochrome sensor with global shutter technology. Unlike a rolling shutter, it reads the signal simultaneously from all pixels of the matrix. This eliminates the appearance of geometric distortions and the “jelly” effect when shooting fast-moving objects. The pixel size of 3.45 micrometers provides high light sensitivity and an excellent signal-to-noise ratio. The monochrome sensor, without a Bayer color filter, captures more detail and light, which is critical for computer vision tasks.
The device transmits data via the MIPI CSI-2 interface, which guarantees minimal latency and high throughput. Camera settings are controlled via a 3.3V I2C bus. You can programmatically adjust analog and digital gain in 0.1dB increments, precisely control exposure time, and set a region of interest (ROI) to improve frame rates .
