Featuring advanced optoelectronic technology and a unique irregular scanning pattern, it is capable of detecting objects up to 260 meters away and generating a dense point cloud at a frequency of 100,000 points per second. The compact body weighing only 710 grams allows the sensor to be easily integrated into any design, including unmanned aerial vehicles. Choose reliability and precision for the most complex engineering solutions. Buy Livox Mid-40 right now in our store.
-
Unique irregular scanning (non-repetitive). As integration time increases, field of view coverage increases, providing detail comparable to 64-line counterparts .
-
Impressive range and accuracy. Detects objects up to 260 m away at 80% reflectivity with an accuracy of 2 cm, ideal for building 3D models .
-
High reliability and protection. The IP67-rated housing and operating temperature range from -20°C to +65°C guarantee operation in all weather conditions.
-
Compact and light weight. Dimensions of 88x69x76 mm and a weight of about 710 g allow the lidar to be installed even on small drones and robots.
-
Easy integration. Supports Ethernet, PTP/PPS synchronization, ROS compatibility and the ability to connect external INS/GNSS for surveying .
Operating principle and data quality
Livox Mid-40 is based on revolutionary irregular scanning technology. Unlike traditional mechanical lidars with a fixed number of lines, the Mid-40 scan pattern does not repeat. This means that as the observation (integration) time increases, the laser beam covers an increasingly larger area within the field of view.
In just 0.1 seconds its efficiency is comparable to a 32-line lidar. And in 0.5 seconds it reaches the 64-line level, providing a dense and detailed point cloud without gaps. Class 1 (eye-safe) laser with a wavelength of 905 nm ensures reliable performance in a variety of conditions.
The sensor provides stable and accurate distance measurement thanks to an advanced optoelectronic system without rotating components. This increases its reliability and resistance to vibrations. The high frequency of data acquisition - up to 100,000 points per second - allows you to create a realistic 3D model of the scene in real time. The built-in false alarm suppression filter ensures a false alarm rate of less than 0.01% even in bright sunlight (100 klx).
