Operating principle and design features
The Maytech 12A 3S ESC works as an electronic commutator, converting DC current from the battery into three-phase AC to power the brushless motor. The built-in microprocessor reads the signal from the flight controller and, depending on the throttle position, changes the frequency and duration of the pulses supplied to the motor windings. This ensures a smooth and precise change in speed from zero to maximum.
Linear BEC (Battery Eliminator Circuit) reduces battery voltage to a stable 5 volts to power on-board electronics, eliminating the need for a separate battery for the receiver and controller.
The device is equipped with built-in protective functions that automatically turn off power to the motor if the signal from the receiver is lost or in case of critical overheating. This prevents uncontrolled flight and regulator failure. The simple design and reliable components guarantee a long service life even with intensive use for educational purposes.
