Operating principle and application possibilities

The Benewake TFmini-S laser rangefinder uses pulsed time-of-flight (ToF) technology. The class 1 laser with a wavelength of 905 nm is absolutely safe for the eyes. The device emits a short pulse of light and measures its return time, calculating the distance to the object. Built-in filtering algorithms ensure stable operation even in bright sunshine up to 70,000 lux.

The sensor is ideal for unmanned aerial vehicles: altitude hold, automatic landing, obstacle detection. Widely used in robotics, smart home systems, automatic doors and autofocus cameras.
