Operating principle and advanced features

Baofeng UV-5RH works as a portable dual-band transceiver. Transmission is carried out in the VHF (136–174 MHz) and UHF (400–520 MHz) bands. The receiver covers an even wider spectrum: FM radio (65–108 MHz), AM aviation band (108–136 MHz), as well as VHF and UHF service frequencies. The transmitter power is adjustable (high/medium/low), which allows you to save power when working at close range.

The device supports analog subtones CTCSS and DCS for organizing closed communication groups. The built-in scrambler module (encryption) adds privacy to negotiations. Voice activation (VOX) keeps your hands free, and the built-in flashlight comes in handy in the dark. Configuration is possible both from the keyboard and via a computer using the CHIRP software.
