Buy Pluto+SDR Software Defined Radio for Professional Radio Engineering Experiments, Research and Education

Pluto+SDR (ADALM-PLUTO) is a complete personal RF laboratory developed by Analog Devices. The device fits in your pocket, connects to your computer via USB and does not require external power. Pluto+SDR allows you to learn the fundamentals of software-defined radio, wireless communications, and RF technologies hands-on. The platform is ideal for students, engineers, radio enthusiasts and developers.

  • Frequency range from 70 MHz to 6 GHz for any radio engineering tasks.
  • Full duplex 2x2 MIMO mode for simultaneous transmission and reception.
  • Open architecture based on Zynq 7010 with FPGA 28K logic elements.
  • Support for GNU Radio, MATLAB, Python and other development environments.
  • Compact size, USB powered and affordable for everyone.

How Pluto+SDR Software Defined Radio Works

The platform is built on the AD9363 RF transceiver, which can be software replaced with the AD9361 or AD9364 to expand capabilities. The analog signal from the antenna is digitized and transmitted to the computer via USB 2.0 or Gigabit Ethernet. The Zynq 7010 system-on-chip with two ARM Cortex-A9 cores and an FPGA processes the digital stream in real time.

PC software performs demodulation, decoding and signal analysis. You can configure frequency, bandwidth and modulation type through user-friendly interfaces. The device supports Windows, Linux and macOS operating systems.

Technical characteristics and functionality

The Pluto+SDR model is equipped with an AD9363 ADC/DAC (can be replaced with an AD9361 or AD9364). The frequency range is from 70 MHz to 6 GHz. The VCTCXO 40 MHz clock generator has an accuracy of 0.5 ppm. The Zynq 7010 SoC includes an FPGA with 28K gates. The amount of RAM is 512 MB, flash memory is 32 MB.

The device is equipped with USB 2.0 OTG and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces. Micro SD card slot allows you to load custom firmware. Power is supplied via microUSB (5 V, 2 A). The platform supports work with GNU Radio, MATLAB, Python and other development environments.
