Inertial navigation system GKV-5

The GKV-5 module is designed to measure inertial influences and calculate orientation. Built-in navigation algorithms allow the modules to be used in systems for stabilizing and monitoring the spatial orientation of objects, and to calculate the true course and coordinates (when connecting an external GNSS receiver).

Order a high-precision inertial navigation system GKV-5 for your drone!

Provide your project with reliable and accurate spatial positioning. The GKV-5 inertial navigation system is designed to measure inertial influences and calculate the orientation of objects in space. The module is designed in small dimensions for use in products with critical weight and size parameters, which makes it an ideal choice for UAVs.

Built-in navigation algorithms allow the module to be used in stabilization and monitoring systems, and to calculate the true course and coordinates when connecting an external GNSS receiver. Choose advanced domestic technologies for your projects.

  • High-precision MEMS angular velocity and linear acceleration sensors on three axes with individual calibration.

  • Compact dimensions and low weight (55 g) for integration into limited spaces.

  • Ability to provide accurate navigation data even when the GNSS signal is lost thanks to built-in algorithms .

  • Wide operating temperature range from -50°C to +85°C for operation in all climatic conditions.

  • Resistance to vibration and shock loads up to 500 g, which is critical for drones.

Operating principle and measurement accuracy

The GKV-5 inertial module consists of a triad of MEMS angular velocity sensors, a triad of MEMS accelerometers, a high-performance computer, a magnetometer and a pressure sensor. Each module is individually calibrated over the entire operating temperature range, which guarantees high measurement accuracy. The built-in SINS algorithm based on the Kalman filter provides complete navigation data in real time and is capable of continuing operation when the satellite signal is lost.

The attitude control system provides roll, pitch and heading angles with high accuracy. The accelerometer-corrected pitch and roll error is only 0.2°, and drops to 0.03° with high-precision GNSS (RTK) correction. The heading error when using a magnetometer is 1°, and with RTK correction it reaches 0.1°. The module also measures linear speed and distance in the starting and geodetic coordinate systems.

Parameter Meaning

The information exchange protocol allows you to flexibly configure output data formats, output frequency and digital filter parameters. Built-in sensor diagnostics operate continuously throughout the entire operating cycle, providing system health monitoring.

Areas of application and operation

The GKV-5 inertial navigation system is specially designed for use in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), where small dimensions and high reliability are critical. It is also widely used in robotics, stabilization systems, geospatial photography and unmanned vehicles. The module is easily integrated into the on-board positioning system and allows you to solve the problem of satellite signal loss in dense urban areas or difficult terrain.
