Operating principle and key features
The SW220B 22kg engine is a turbojet engine (TRE) with a single-shaft design. The air is compressed by a compressor and mixed with fuel (kerosene or diesel) in the combustion chamber, where the temperature reaches 650–750°C. The combustion products expand in a turbine, which rotates the compressor and creates jet thrust.
The speed range is from 38,000 to 115,000 rpm. Fuel consumption 660 grams per minute. Lubrication is provided by adding oil: 5% to kerosene or 3% to diesel. Brushless starter and pump improve reliability. The interval between maintenance is 25 hours.
