How does this hyperspectral camera work and where to use it?
The operating principle of the camera is based on transmission grating spectroscopy. Light from the object passes through a slit (25 microns), is decomposed into spectral components and hits the CMOS matrix. Each pixel in the image receives a full spectrum of intensity. The software builds a hyperspectral data cube where wavelength information is available for each point.
The 600:1 signal-to-noise ratio and wide exposure range (21 µs - 10 s) guarantee quality results even in low light. The camera is used for sorting fruits, detecting contamination, analyzing soil, monitoring the authenticity of medicines and documents.
