Operating principle and technical details

Charger ISDT 608PD works as a smart intermediary between the USB-C source and the battery. It exchanges data with a charger (laptop, power bank) via a USB-C cable. Using the Power Delivery (PD) protocol, they “negotiate” voltage and current. The device requests the voltage required to charge a specific battery (up to 20V).

Having received power, the internal DC-DC converter and controller begin to work. For LiPo batteries, the CC/CV algorithm with balancing is used. The device supplies constant current until the voltage reaches a peak. It then maintains the peak voltage while reducing the current. In parallel, a balancing circuit equalizes the voltage across each battery cell.
