This optical module combines a laser ToF rangefinder and an optical flow sensor. It is ideal for indoor flights without GPS. MicoAir is a Chinese company based in Shenzhen. She creates reliable equipment for drones. The brand produces the following products:

How does the MTF-02 sensor work?
There are two key subsystems inside the module. The laser ToF sensor measures the distance to the object. An optical flow sensor monitors the movement of the surface underneath the drone. The built-in processor integrates data in real time. You get precise positioning in 3D space. The drone hovered stably even without satellites.
Technical characteristics and functionality
Model MTF-02 has a measurement range from 2 cm to 2.5 meters. The rangefinder field of view (FoV) reaches 20 degrees. The optical flow sensor operates at illumination levels of 60 lux. The minimum height for optical flow operation is 8 cm. The maximum measurement speed is 7 m/s at a height of 1 meter. The laser wavelength is 940 nanometers. The supply voltage is in the range of 4–5.5 V DC.
The module supports Micolink, Mavlink (ArduPilot/PX4) and MSP (iNav) protocols. The output frequency is 50Hz for smooth control. The sensor dimensions are 25×10×4.5 mm. The module weight is 1.5 grams. The operating temperature ranges from -20 to +85°C.
For wider possibilities there is the MTF-02P model. It measures distances up to 6 meters even in bright light. The MTF-02P has a rangefinder field of view narrowed to 2°. Both models are easily connected via UART. Protocols are configured through the proprietary MicoAssistant utility. You can quickly integrate the sensor with your favorite flight controller.
