3D scanning technology
The Zenmuse L3 lidar uses a pulsed laser rangefinder. It measures the distance to objects around the drone. The system creates a point cloud at high speed. At the same time, the built-in camera takes RGB pictures. Camera data is overlaid on a point cloud.
This allows you to create colorful 3D models. The terrain models are incredibly detailed. You can measure any objects at a distance. The accuracy of the model reaches the centimeter level. This exceeds the capabilities of conventional photogrammetry.
Integration and professional application
The Zenmuse L3 module is designed for the Matrice 300 and 350 drones and can be easily installed on a compatible gimbal. Control is carried out via the DJI remote control and the application. DJI Terra software processes the data. You will receive ready-to-use 3D models.
The lidar range is several hundred meters. It scans even complex objects efficiently. For example, power lines or building facades. The system operates in various weather conditions. It is less dependent on lighting than cameras.
