This is a brushless external rotation motor (outrunner). The magnets are located on the outer rotor, which rotates around the stator. The ESC controller supplies current to the three stator windings in a specific sequence. This creates a rotating magnetic field. It interacts with the magnets of the rotor, causing it to rotate. A KV value of 1600 indicates high response speed.
The Flashhobby D2225 motor has a stator size of 22 mm by 25 mm. This is a classic size for micro and mini racing grade drones. Recommended supply voltage is from 7.4V (2S) to 11.1V (3S). The motor demonstrates high efficiency in this range. The maximum power reaches 150 W.
It fits perfectly with small propellers. Screws with a diameter of 4-5 inches are recommended. This is the standard for drones in the 3-4 inch category. To operate, you will need a compact ESC with a current of about 20A. Such a tandem will provide sharp and controlled acceleration.
The motor is often chosen for assembling Tiny Whoop racing drones and similar ones. It performs well in flights in confined spaces. It is also used in light freestyle models for tricks. Installation is easy thanks to standard mounting holes. Use M2 screws to attach to the frame.
Don't forget about regular maintenance. Clean the motor of dust and grass after flying. Periodically check the shaft play and the condition of the bearings. This will maintain its performance for a long time. Correct ESC setting is also important for smoothness.
