The SICK LMS511-12100S08 Heavy Duty 2D LiDAR is a high-performance laser scanner for industrial automation, AGV navigation and asset monitoring. The device operates on the principle of measuring the time of flight of a laser pulse (Time-of-Flight).
The model provides a range of up to 80 meters and a viewing angle of 190 degrees. Thanks to multiple echo technology, lidar remains accurate in rain, fog and dust. Built-in heater and IP67 protection guarantee operation at temperatures from -40 to +60°C.

A laser scanner emits infrared pulses (905 nm) and measures their return time from objects. The rotating mirror scans the space 190 degrees, creating a two-dimensional map of the environment. The built-in processor processes up to 5 echoes from each pulse, which allows you to distinguish objects even in difficult conditions.
Data is transmitted via Ethernet TCP/IP, RS-232, RS-422 or CAN interfaces. Built-in field analysis with flexible zone settings allows lidar to be used for navigation, collision avoidance and bulk material volume measurement.
Technical characteristics and functionality
Measuring range is from 0.2 to 80 meters. Measurement accuracy reaches ±24 mm. Scanning frequency selectable from 25–100 Hz. Angular resolution adjustable from 0.042° to 1°. Supply voltage: 24 VDC (±20%). Power consumption - 22 W, plus up to 55 W for heating.
Device weight - 3.7 kg, dimensions - 160x155x185 mm. The body is made of AlSi12 aluminum alloy with scratch-resistant polycarbonate window. Digital inputs and outputs (4 and 6 respectively) allow lidar to be integrated into control systems.

The series also includes models with an extended range of up to 130 meters (LMS511-15100) and Lite versions for less demanding tasks.
