Operating principle and key technologies
The Oculus M750d sonar uses two acoustic transducers to generate images. At low frequency (750 kHz), it scans a sector of 130° horizontally and 20° vertically, providing a range of up to 120 meters. At high frequency (1.2 MHz), the field of view narrows to 70°×12°, but the resolution increases to 2.5 mm. The device generates 512 beams with an angular resolution of 1° at low frequencies and 0.6° at high frequencies.
The beam separation is 0.25° and 0.16° respectively. The received data is transmitted via Ethernet or RS-232. Built-in pressure and temperature sensors provide additional environmental information. Power supply 18–32 V, power 10–35 W.
The Oculus M750d sonar is ideal for underwater drones (ROVs), autonomous vehicles (AUVs), hydrographic surveys, asset searches and pipeline inspections.
