How does the MG995 micro servo drive work?
The microcontroller receives a PWM signal from the receiver. The pulse duration sets the desired rotation angle. The controller compares it with the current position. When diverging, the motor rotates the shaft through plastic gears. The built-in potentiometer constantly reports the actual angle. This way the shaft rotates precisely to the desired position.
Technical characteristics and functionality
The MG995 weighs just 9 grams for ultra-lightweight builds. The working moment is 1.6 kg/cm. The reaction rate is in the range of 0.12–0.13 s/60°. The Dead zone is 5 microseconds. The operating voltage varies from 3 to 7.2 volts. Gear material is plastic for quiet operation.
This is an entry-level analog servo. The rotation angle is available at 90 or 180 degrees. Operating temperature from -30°C to +60°C. The model is compatible with 250–500 helicopters and small aircraft.
