Order the powerful Radxa ROCK 5T motherboard for your most demanding projects!

Get desktop computing power in a compact single board computer format. The Radxa ROCK 5T motherboard is based on a modern 8nm Rockchip RK3588 processor with 8 cores and 64-bit architecture. It combines four high-performance Cortex-A76 cores with frequencies up to 2.4 GHz. And also four energy-efficient Cortex-A55 up to 1.8 GHz for the perfect balance of speed and power consumption.

The built-in NPU neuroprocessor module with performance up to 6 TOPS opens up limitless possibilities. For example, for problems of artificial intelligence and machine learning. This is an ideal solution for edge computing, robotics, smart video surveillance and the creation of personal servers.

  • Rockchip RK3588 octa-core processor with up to 2.4 GHz frequency and 6 TOPS NPU for AI tasks.

  • Up to 32 GB LPDDR5 RAM for handling the largest data .

  • Two high-speed 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, one with optional PoE support.

  • Two M.2 slots for NVMe SSD and one M.2 Key-B for connecting a 4G/5G modem.

  • Industrial version with operating temperature range from -40 to +85 °C.

Operating principle and computing capabilities

Radxa ROCK 5T is a complete single board computer measuring just 110x80mm. It easily integrates into any systems. The Rockchip RK3588 processor with big.LITTLE architecture dynamically distributes the load between powerful and energy-efficient cores. This ensures maximum performance when you need it and energy savings when not in use. The built-in NPU supports INT4/INT8/INT16/FP16/BF16 and TF32 formats, allowing you to perform neural network inference locally without going to the cloud.

The Arm Mali-G610 MC4 graphics subsystem supports modern APIs, including OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 2.2 and Vulkan 1.2. This is sufficient for handling interfaces and rendering. The hardware video decoder is capable of processing 8K@60fps video in H.265, VP9, AV1 formats, and the encoder is capable of processing up to 8K@30fps. This makes the board ideal for multimedia systems, digital kiosks and professional video capture.

Technical characteristics and interfaces

Explore the rich connectivity features of the Radxa ROCK 5T. LPDDR5 memory is available in 4, 8, 16, 24 or 32 GB configurations. For storage, there are two M.2 2280 slots with PCIe 3.0 x2 interface for NVMe SSD, a microSD slot and an optional built-in eMMC up to 256 GB.

Video outputs include dual HDMI (one up to 8Kp60, one up to 4Kp60), USB-C with DisplayPort 1.4a up to 4Kp60, and MIPI DSI for connecting displays . The board supports simultaneous operation of up to four independent screens with resolutions up to 8K + 4K + 4K + 2K. A separate HDMI input up to 4Kp60 allows you to capture video from external sources.

The cameras have two 4-lane MIPI CSI interfaces, configurable as four 2-lane . Network capabilities are represented by two 2.5GbE ports (one with PoE option). Wireless communication is implemented by Wi-Fi 6/6E and Bluetooth 5.2/5.3 modules, depending on the version.

The USB kit includes two USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-A, two USB 2.0 Type-A and one USB Type-C ports with OTG and Power Delivery support. A 40-pin Raspberry Pi compatible GPIO header is available for expansion, supporting UART, SPI, I2C, PWM, CAN and other interfaces. Power is supplied via a DC 12V connector.

Areas of application and operation

Radxa ROCK 5T is available in commercial (0...+60°C) and industrial (-40...+85°C) versions. This expands its application from home laboratories to outdoor equipment and transportation systems. The board will be an excellent basis for a powerful robot controller, personal cloud server, and environmental monitoring system.

Supported operating systems include Radxa OS, Debian, Ubuntu, Android and others. They represent complete freedom of choice of software environment. Thanks to the complete openness of hardware designs and source code, the board attracts a huge community of developers and enthusiasts who are ready to share experiences and solutions.
