Operating principle and design
The BeastFPV MATEK antenna is a type of Vee dipole antenna. This design consists of two symmetrical arms, separated in the shape of a Latin letter V. This provides an omnidirectional diagram in the horizontal plane and good coordination with the path. A dipole antenna emits a linearly polarized wave. For maximum efficiency, it is recommended to use an antenna with similar linear polarization at the receiver.
The key feature of this model is an exceptionally low SWR of 1.1. This means that almost all the power of the video transmitter goes into the air, and is not reflected back and does not heat the cable. For high-power VTXs such as 1.5W models, this is critical to maintaining their performance. A characteristic impedance of 50 ohms is standard for most FPV devices.
