How the TIM310 laser scanner works
The device emits a safe laser at a frequency of 15 Hz. The built-in mechanism scans the space in a horizontal plane. The beam is reflected from all obstacles around you. The sensor calculates the distance to each point using the ToF method. The microprocessor builds an accurate 2D map of the robot's environment. Data is output via digital control outputs.
The specific functionality of the model reveals its power. The operating range of the device is 0.05 to 4 meters. At 10% reflectivity the distance is reduced to 2 meters. The angular resolution of the sensor is 1 degree. Systematic error is within ±40 mm. Statistical error does not exceed 30 mm. Response time per scan typical 67 ms.
Processing two scans takes a maximum of 134 ms. Supply voltage ranges from 9–28 VDC. No-load power consumption is only 4 W. The weight of the device without cables is 150 grams. The device remains operational at -10…+50°C.
