Buy Hyosung TANSOME® H2550 Carbon Filament for Heavy Duty Drone Parts

Hyosung carbon thread from South Korea, providing load-bearing structures with minimal weight and maximum rigidity. Hyosung Advanced Materials is a South Korean giant that is one of the world leaders in the production of high-tech materials. The company produces tire cord with the largest global market share, fabric for car belts and airbags.

The flagship product is the TANSOME® carbon line, the first high-performance carbon filament developed in Korea. Today the company produces not only standard, but also ultra-high-strength T-1000 class fibers for aviation and defense.

  • Tensile strength up to 5645 MPa (14 times higher than steel).
  • Modulus of elasticity 250 GPa for maximum rigidity.
  • Density 1.78 g/cm³ lighter than steel and aluminum.
  • 12K filament (800 g/km) is suitable for 3D printing and display.
  • Heat resistance up to 700°C for extreme conditions.

How carbon fiber works

Thousands of microscopic filaments with a diameter of 7 microns are twisted into a thread. When impregnated with epoxy resin, this composite becomes a monolith. The tensile energy is distributed evenly across all fibers. So the part can withstand enormous loads with negligible weight.

The specific functionality of the thread is revealed in composites. Hyosung Carbon Filament is used in Continuous Layout Repair (CFRP) technology. The fabric made from it is used for vacuum infusion. The part receives maximum strength along the fibers. You can reinforce any complex 3D printed model.

The technical characteristics of the thread are impressive. Model H2550 has a strength of 5516-5645 MPa. The elastic modulus remains stable at 250 GPa. Density is in the range of 1.78-1.80 g/cm³. Linear density 800 g/km (12K) suitable for 3D printers. The width of the tape is 6.5 mm, convenient for laying in molds.

The thread contains about 1% lubricant for better adhesion to the resin. The level of fluffiness is minimal (36.0 mg/10 m). Unlike fiberglass, carbon conducts current.

  • Density: 1.76-1.77 g/cm³
