How does this smart battery work?

The DJI Phantom 3 battery is a lithium polymer battery with a nominal voltage of 15.2V (4S). 4480 mAh capacity and 68 Wh energy provide long-lasting power to the drone's motors and electronics. The built-in microprocessor continuously monitors temperature, voltage and current. It transmits data to the flight controller and displays it via the app, as well as on four LEDs on the body.

If an abnormal situation is detected (overheating, overcharging, short circuit), the system automatically turns off the power, protecting the drone from damage.

Use the DJI Phantom 3 battery only with original DJI chargers. Charge the battery only after it has completely cooled down. Store the battery in a cool, dry place at temperatures between 0 and 40°C.
