How does this analog video receiver work?

The receiver constantly scans the airwaves in the 5.8 GHz range. It picks up the radio signal that is emitted by the video transmitter on the drone. Internal circuits amplify this signal and clear it of interference. Then demodulation occurs - extracting the original video signal. This signal is sent to the display of the FPV goggles, turning into a picture.

A key feature is the ability to use multiple antennas. A Diversity system with two separate antennas is often used. The receiver automatically selects the antenna with the best signal. This greatly improves image stability when maneuvering the drone. You get less noise and image dropouts at critical moments.

Specifications and setup

The VM1373R receiver has standard parameters for its class. Operating frequency range 5.645 - 5.925 GHz. Supports 48 channels in 7 frequency groups (including Raceband). The sensitivity of the receiver is very high, which improves the range. It is powered by a voltage of 3.3V - 5.5V, consuming a small current. Audio output allows you to hear sound from the on-board microphone.

The functionality includes automatic and manual channel search. Scan mode quickly finds the active transmitter channel. You can manually select a specific channel for group flights.
