Nanoradar SR75 4D sensor is an advanced spatial awareness system for drones. It provides simultaneous detection of objects by range and angle. How does this 4D radar system work?
The sensor emits short radio wave pulses in the millimeter range. They are reflected from surrounding objects and come back. The receiver picks up the reflected signals and analyzes them. The system calculates the distance to the object, its angle and radial speed. This creates a rich, four-dimensional view of the surrounding space.
The key difference from lidars is their independence from lighting and weather. Radio waves travel through rain, snow, dust and fog. This makes the system reliable for commercial missions in any environment. It can detect non-metallic objects that are difficult for other sensors to detect. For example, wires, tree branches or chain-link fences.
