Operating principle and design features
The FlyfishRC Osprey RHCP 5.8G antenna operates in the popular 5.8 GHz FPV band. Right hand circular polarization (RHCP) effectively suppresses multipath interference caused by signal reflections from the ground and obstacles. The high radiation efficiency of 99% means that almost all of the video transmitter's energy is converted into radio waves rather than being dissipated as heat.
A low VSWR (standing wave ratio) of 1.2 ensures perfect matching with the VTX output stage. The compact 14.1mm antenna head and flexible RG141 coaxial cable make it easy to fit the antenna into the tightest bays of micro-drones, while the ipex/UFL connector provides a reliable connection to the video transmitter board.
