How Propellers Work
Propellers convert motor rotation into thrust. Size (diameter × pitch in inches) determines thrust and speed: larger diameter produces more thrust at lower RPM; higher pitch moves more air per revolution but requires more torque. A 51466 prop is 5.1" diameter, 4.66" pitch. Tri-blade props offer more thrust and smoother response but lower efficiency than bi-blades.

Prop selection is a system decision: motor KV, battery voltage, and prop size must be matched. 5" 2400KV on 4S: 51466 tri-blade. 5" 1700KV on 6S: 51433 or 51466. 7" 1500KV on 6S: 7042. Always check motor thrust tables — never exceed motor amp rating.
Materials & Durability
Polycarbonate (PC) is durable and flexible — good for training. Fiberglass-reinforced nylon is stiffer and more efficient. Carbon fiber is lightest and stiffest (best response) but brittle and expensive. Agricultural props use nylon for chemical resistance.
Balancing & Maintenance
Always balance new props with a prop balancer — unbalanced props cause vibrations that degrade gyro performance and video quality. Inspect props after every crash for nicks and stress marks. Replace props in matched sets; never mix worn and new props on the same drone.
